Gateway Center is pleased to announce that we are renovating! Our Conference Wing is getting a much needed makeover with a completely new look and feel with technology upgrades that will make Gateway Center the high demand venue for business meetings.

The Gateway Center 7,000 sq. ft. Conference Wing is comprised of four rooms, the Cahokian room, Illini room, Marquette room and the Mississippian room.

The phase I renovation of the Gateway Center will provide new upgrades to the finishes that will include new carpet, wall covers, ceilings, led lighting, doors and glazed walls. The glazed walls will create a modern appearance to the facility, eliminating the institutional look that currently exists. Technology upgrades throughout the Conference Wing will make it a prime location for corporate meetings.

THE CAHOKIAN ROOM will be converted to a luxurious boardroom and will include a switch glass wall that will transform from transparency to opaque with the flip of a switch.  Inside of the boardroom there will be seating for 30 people.  The room will be equipped with an oval conference room table with hidden connections to the technology.  The technology in this room will be two 64” high definition monitors.  One of the monitors will have a touch screen that will allow users to digitally draw ideas and communicate graphically on the screen.  The interactive capability will be ideal for corporate business meetings. This room will also have the capability of video conferencing and broadcasting training videos via the web.

The MISSISSIPPIAN ROOM will be equipped with two overhead high-resolution projectors and electronically controlled projection screens. This room can be divided using a new acoustical folding wall with each room having a projector, or the room can be used as one large room with the projectors broadcasting a synchronized signal. The projectors will be controlled by a touch screen computer that is housed in the podium.  The touch screen will enable the user to write on the screen and project the image on the screen.  Again, communicating graphically allows a higher level of interactive presentation to the audience.  There will be two podiums in this room.  Electricity and data cabling will be fed thru the floor and directly into the podium. This room will also have the capability of video conferencing and broadcasting training videos via the web. Also included in this room are two 8’ tall x 16’ wide porcelain whiteboards that can be used for traditional brainstorming.

The MARQUETTE ROOM will be equipped one overhead high-resolution projector and electronically controlled projection screen. The projectors will be controlled by a touch screen computer that is housed in the podium.  The touch screen will enable the user to write on the screen and project the image on the screen.  Again, communicating graphically allows a higher level of interactive presentation to the audience.  There will be one podium in this room.  Electricity and data cabling will be fed thru the floor and directly into the podium. This room will also have the capability of video conferencing and broadcasting training videos via the web. Also included in this room is an 8’ tall x 16’ wide porcelain whiteboards that can be used for traditional brainstorming.

The ILLINI ROOM will have the capability of including a mobile 64” monitor in the room.  The mobile technology will provide flexibility for the staff to have a high-end technology experience, or a traditional meeting room space with less emphasis on technology.

The TECHNOLOGY BAR is located in the corridor that links the main thoroughfare to the Gateway Center.   The bar will have charging stations and connectivity to three wall mounted high definition monitors.  This space is essential for the modern business person to remain tethered to the outside world in a relaxing atmosphere.

Gateway Center is owned and operated by the City of Collinsville. Gateway Center renovations will be financed with a combination of Hotel Occupancy Tax that was raised on May 1, 2018 from 7% to 9% for projects rooted in tourism and hospitality, Tax Increment Financing District #1 funds, as well as a $625,000 grant that was secured for the project through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs.
